A Step in Time Dance Studio

And wonderful, supportive parents.

Thank you to the parents who have stepped up and agreed to help out Sunday evening so the kids could have a sleep over after all their hard work.

One of the highlights was our critique sessions. Besides being excellent teachers, they also work as competition judges for various convention and competition companies. To have the opportunity to perform your dance and then immediately afterwards have knowledgeable people get up on the floor with you and give you comments, pointers and show you how to make it better... well that is a rare opportunity.

Imagine going to a convention an having the teacher walk over to you and make individual corrections. Imagine going to a convention and having the tap teacher have you do that new technique excercise one at a time and tell you how to make it bettter. Doesn't happen very often. It happened this weekend.

We also had some great discussion re. dance in college, dance in the real world, the value of competitions as a learning experience rather that a contest, what judges look for, etc.
